Trailing stop bot
A Trailing stop bot keeps a stop a set distance behind the best price since it started.
More
When the price turns back by that distance, it closes the position. It can protect a position you already hold, or open one.
When to use it
To lock in profit on a winning trade while leaving room for it to run.
Settings
Every bot trades in your own Hyperliquid account. In the setup you pick the market, the amount and the leverage; Safe, Balanced and Aggressive fill in the rest from the coin's own volatility, and Customize settings opens every setting below. Rivemont's fee is from 0.1% per fill, lower with your 30-day volume, plus Hyperliquid's own trading fee.
- Position
- One I hold (follows your open position; sets no money aside; leverage stays yours) or Open now (buys or shorts the amount and trails it).
- Trail by
- A fixed % behind the best price, or a multiple of the ATR (widens when the market moves more).
- Distance (or Chart, ATR, Mult.)
- How far behind. Wider: fewer early exits but gives back more profit.
- Start at
- Optional: the trail starts once the position is this far in profit; the stop loss protects it until then (then required).
- SL and TP
- The stop until the trail starts, and an optional take profit.
Example
You hold ETH bought at $3,000, trail 3%. ETH rises to $3,400: the stop is at $3,298. ETH falls to $3,298: the bot closes your position, keeping about +9.9% before fees.
What can go wrong
The fill can be below the stop
in a fast market.Rivemont watches the trail once a minute
, so a very fast move can close a little further away.
