TWAP bot
A TWAP bot (time-weighted average price) splits a total amount into equal slices and sends them over the run time, from 5 minutes to a week.
More
It can also close a position you hold the same way.
When to use it
When a single market order would move a thin market, or you want an average price over a period rather than the price of one moment.
Settings
Every bot trades in your own Hyperliquid account. In the setup you pick the market, the amount and the leverage; Safe, Balanced and Aggressive fill in the rest from the coin's own volatility, and Customize settings opens every setting below. Rivemont's fee is from 0.1% per fill, lower with your 30-day volume, plus Hyperliquid's own trading fee.
- Goal
- Build (buys or shorts the amount in slices) or Close one I hold (closes your position in reduce-only slices; no money set aside).
- Run time
- 5 minutes to a week.
- Slices
- 2 to 500, at most one a minute. More slices: smaller orders, less price impact; each must stay above the $10 minimum.
- Vary time and size
- Moves each slice a little in time and size, so the orders are harder to spot; the total stays the same.
- Close
- With Close one I hold: the share of your position it closes.
- Price limit
- Optional: a buy never pays above it and a sell never sells below it; past it the bot waits.
- Max spread
- Optional: it waits while the gap between the best bid and ask is wider than this.
- SL
- While it buys: closes everything this far against the average entry.
Example
Buy $6,000 of a small coin over 60 minutes in 12 slices: about $500 every 5 minutes. With a price limit of $1.05, any slice due while the price is above $1.05 waits; after a pause it catches up at most two slices at a time.
What can go wrong
The average can be worse
than the price at the start if the market moves away during the run.Pauses make it end later
: the run time is a plan, not a promise.
